Keeping Busy!

The past few days, we've been going to Rotary Park to help Hal with his Eagle project. He was making a gateway to one of the trails.

First order of the day for the girls was to go to the church and fill 5 gallon jugs with water for the concrete to set the posts

Devin worked with Spencer to get one of the post holes dug. He was pretty sore by the end of the day

Drew and Henry carry posts over to the site

The girls took a break from collecting river rocks on the roots of this tree

The first arch is up

Setting the posts

Drew and Henry work on tightening the screws at the top of the crossbeams while Hal is tries to figure out how to put benches on each side

The girls take a seat on the new bench. They were busy raking and planting seeds on each side of the gateway. If we go back in a month, we'll find flowers starting to bud!

Visit With the Uncles

Last night we spent some time at Dad's house with Uncles Mark, Roger, Gary and Arnie. It was nice to visit with them before their big road trip to FL.

Here Uncle Gary and Uncle Mark kick back for a bit. They were all tired since they left WI at midnight on Sunday! Yes, Dad referred to them as the Looney Tunes, so now that's how I will think of them.

Dad, Uncle Roger and Uncle Arnie got cozy on the couch for me. I feel sorry for all the people who run into these guys today! I wonder if they all packed their Bubba Teeth?

Paige wanted to make some brownies to bring over for all of her great uncles. She made them from scratch and ALL BY HERSELF. I wasn't even downstairs when she did it. Let me just say, Devin, watch out! There might be a new iron chef in town! The brownies were delicious.

Cleaning up after making brownies :)

My Dinner Birthday Present

For my dinner birthday present, which arrived at the mail room this afternoon after work, was a Garmin GPS! I really like it! Thanks bunches Bunny! Now I'm ready for long hikes in the woods, and searching for those hot fishing spots! Plus, it is better than plane tickets!
Happy Easter!

Paige helped make Lemony Asparagus to go with our dinner. I'm sure it was the first of many, many times she will make it. I know I've been having it for holiday meals for more than 20 years. It was yummy, as usual!

Paige, Thomas and Libbie kicked back with a book for a little while before dinner

Thomas, Ame and Libbie getting ready to have some homemade banana pudding

Here are our yummy little banana puddings. I splurged and bought the individual trifle dishes I've had my eye on for over a year:)

Happy Birthday to ME!

When I woke up today I waited in bed to see if my breakfast would appear. No breakfast in bed. So I woke up and made myself some yummy breakfast and headed over to Starbucks for my new favorite: Triple Caramel Machiatto! Went to work and then left for lunch early to get my lunch time present! PLANE TICKETS! I have a ticket for an airplane! Ain't got time to take a fast train! Not that there is actually a train from Korea. So I updated the counter! You will notice that it's a little shorter than it used to be!
10 MAY BABY!

Full Disclosure....
In the interest of full disclosure, I would like to state that I totally ripped off Scott's Korea time from Ame's blog. Thank you :)

Friday's Breakfast!!!

Here are the Hot Cross Buns, as promised. We're all looking forward to having them for breakfast tomorrow. I'm sure I'll have enough to share with a few people (Ame, Dad)!

My Little Entrepreneur

Devin came home from school yesterday and announced that he needed my sewing machine. What? To make book covers. Oh. Okay. Sixth grade is doing their annual business fair and Devin's team decided to make book covers. His buddy Evan came over and they did a little assembly line work. Evan cutting, Devin sewing. Now he wants his own machine. Go figure.

This is what has been keeping me busy lately. I've been baking up a storm. Monday was Banana Chocolate Chip muffins, Tuesday was Cinnamon Swirl Oatmeal Bread and yesterday was Whole Wheat Zucchini Bread with Currants. Today I'm making Hot Cross Buns for tomorrow morning's breakfast. A little tradition I picked up a few years ago for Good Friday.

Happy Birthday....Again

We got to celebrate Paige's birthday again with the Fulmer Fam last night. Ame had surgery on Paige's bday, so we decided to have a redo. Thomas made an original piece of artwork for his favorite Paige. She also got a plate and cup to match her Treehugger mug.

Thomas got to spend time with his favorite kitty cat, too. Fred was very patient with him. I guess he knows the drill.

Come on Paige! Blow out those candles!

This is what I'm talking about! Yummy cake and ice cream!

How cute is Libbie? I don't know if she was protesting her lack of cake or just being plain adorable!

Winter Wonderland Part 2

Here's an idea of how deep the snow was. I would guess 5 or 6 inches. We enjoyed sitting in the family room on Friday night with the lights out and watching it fall. Well, I did. The kids were outside in it!

Here's Devin making the perfect snowball. Next year, we'll need REAL winter coats (and hats, mittens, scarves and snowpants)!

Showing off the final product

Here's Drew's snowman. It's a pitiful little lump of snow now. Tomorrow we have a high of 65*! The joys of March in the south!

Jax had some fun in the snow tonight on our walk. Jake opted to stay home!

Future Member?

Could Devin be a future member of Flock of Seagulls? He's got his hair in training! As you can see by the look on his face, he's not too excited early in the morning.

It's That Time of the Season!!!

The 76* weather warranted my very first Iced Mocha of the year. Woo hoo!!! I'm sure this lovely weather won't last long, but I'll take it while I can get it!

Happy Birthday, Sweet Girl!!

Ta Da!! Presto chango! Overnight Paige has gone from a little tiny baby girl to a 14 year old. How is it possible that so much time has gone by?

After school Paige opened her second present of the day from Scott and me. It says 'think green' on it for my eco-friendly girl.

Paige wanted a blue cake with purple polkadots and a bow on top. This is what I came up with. Not bad for my first try at fondant. It is extremely easy to work with, so I will recommend it to everyone. Paige loved it, too!

Fourteen candles take a long time to light!!!

Blow!!!! And watch the hair!!!!!

Here's some video of Paige opening her big present from me and Scott. I had to wait almost two weeks from the time I bought it until she opened it. That was rough because I knew she would LOVE it. Click on the video and see for yourself!

Raider Challenge

This is a picture of the team doing 'Blind Man's Bluff'. The team wore blindfolds and had to pick an item up out of the bucket then follow Drew's directions on getting them to the garbage cans. (that's Drew in the chair)

Here the team is getting their ropes on for competing in the rope bridge competition. To see video of that, click the link that I put up a few posts ago.

That's Drew being interviewed by reporters from the local newspaper.

Rock Climbing with the Scouts

Paige, Devin and Grandpa went indoor rock climbing last Friday with scouts. Here are a few pics of the fun that they had:

Mr. Harold gives some instructions before letting them loose on the walls

Devin is suited up in his harness and ready to climb. You can see the excitement all over his face!

Paige spent the whole evening taking turns climbing and belaying with her friends

Paige spent some time just "hanging around"

JROTC Competition
Here is a link to a video of Drew's Raider team doing a few of the events. I'll have more pics up later today.

For Your Listening Pleasure...

Drew got the music off the internet and taught himself this song. He did a little tempo work after we took this video, so it's a little faster than it should be, but it's still 'awesome' in Drew's words:)
