Operation Angel Tree

Operation Angel Tree is a program that sponsors children of people currently serving time in jail. Our church sponsored a few families for Christmas and ensured that the children received Christmas presents from their parent. The church took a collection and the Children's Ministry went shopping, wrapped and delivered presents to the homes of the children on Sunday.

Here are the 5th grade kids outside of Wal-mart! They look like power shoppers with a purpose.

Devin and the 5th grade boys search for toys. They were shopping for a 6 year old boy who lives in town.

Pastor Brett braces himself for the total as all the teams bring their goods to the check out. All in all the kids shopped for ten different children.


Devin and his crew frantically wrap the presents that they bought. They had a few cookie breaks here and there, Devin told me he ate about ten cookies while wrapping. It's a good thing we had Arby's for lunch or he would have never made it that far!

At the end of the day I drove the church van to two homes in Clarksville with some of the kids while Pastor Brett drove the church bus with the rest of the kids. We delivered quite a few presents. Everyone seemed very thankful. I know that the kids felt good that they could help other kids have a better Christmas this year.
