Weekend Update
This past weekend was pretty full. Here are a few pictures of what we were up to!
Drew spent all of Sunday afternoon working on the finishing touches for his trebuchet. He added cinderblocks for weight, drilled a few holes, reinforced a few things, added his mom-made sling and gave it several test runs. It was pretty cool (and heavy!)
Here is the test. Drew added some large screws with eye holes and bought a pin with a handle on it to thread through the holes. He tied some 550 cord onto it and gives it a yank to let the trebuchet go.
Here the soccer ball is beginning to launch
The soccer ball is pretty much a blur at the top of this picture. I will have video of the launches tomorrow at school to post on the blog. It is pretty impressive!
Friday night, Thomas and Libbie came over to visit us while Ame had some fun of her own. Thomas pulled his shirt up onto his head and proclaimed that it was his 'cape'. He ran around the house and chased Paige. He's getting into his 'Super Hero phase' it seems.
Saturday was rummage sale day here on post. I was out from 6:30 until about 11:00. We managed to get rid of about 1/2 the junk. Some of the rest is going to Goodwill and some is going to be posted on Campbellyardsales.com Maybe we'll be able to unload a bit more. The main objective is to NOT MOVE IT WITH US!!!!!!!
Saturday morning, Dad came over at about 6:15 to pick the boys up for the annual Craft Fair at Sango UMC. The scouts have helped out for the past several years. They directed traffic, helped the vendors carry things in and out, helped out with food service and kept the trash under control.
As you can see, Devin was one tired boy by the end of the day. We left about 4:00. He was also quite sunburned. I need to remember that for all intents and purposes, it's summer here in Tennessee and time to get out the sunscreen!
