JROTC Raider Competition Invitational

Devin and I went on a road trip to the Louisville area to watch Drew's Raider Team participate in an Invitational Competition. Fort Knox High School, Fort Campbell High School and four others participated in this event. Here is a picture of Devin chillin' in the hotel. He sure was smart the next day - he stayed in a Holiday Inn Express that night! He thought it was pretty awesome that the room had a Plasma TV!

It was a beautiful day and the team was pretty pumped up!

Here the team participates in the Litter Carry Competition. They had to all stay within 15 feet of each other. They had to all carry something for a 300 yard relay. They couldn't carry the same item for more than 100 yards. There was definately some synchronization requirements involved with this race!

First Place!

The team finished first place overall! They finished first in the Rock Climing and Land Navigation competitions. They performed consistently throughout and took first place overall. There was another school that took first place in 4 events but they finished in 2nd overall. This is their first overall victory in a four years. Training continues throughout the summer, they are going to Nationals in Georgia next October!
